Start of my singing career




 

Woah. This week was good.


We went to a neighborhood party in a 60+ gated community. It was a little concert. One guy had a guitar and played country songs while everyone else sat in lawn chairs around the driveway. They noticed us missionaries in the crowd and asked us to come up and introduce ourselves. I joked, "well if we have to sing a song..." and they went crazy. So I took the microphone and sang "Country Roads" by John Denver-- a solo! It was the most fun experience of my mission life. THEN we met President Nelson's daughter. That's Utah, baby😉

We met our new mission president, Kendal Kotter & his wife Leslie:) They are quirky, simple, and humble. We all filed into the chapel and sat down in the pews. They introduced themselves to us all and man oh man I didn't even know that I needed them. I am so excited to learn from them and love them❤

Happy 4th🇺🇸 We went to four 4th of July ward breakfasts. Count me as an expert. That is a lot of free pancakes. I would say my favorite party was when a very old man led us in a chant (hip hip hoorah for America!) and then he included in his speech that not only is he proud to be an American, but he is even prouder that Adam, Enoch, Noah and Joseph Smith were Americans.

  It was a great week! Here are the notable things 1. General Conference. Eight hours of tv?! Yes please. I loved so many of the talks and just having time to remember what is truly important: Jesus Christ 2. A member gave us an Easter dinner and for dessert she gave us each one pound chocolate bunnies . We left them on a random doorstep down the street and ran .  3. We were watching general conference as a district, all happy and in la-la land, AND THEN suddenly they call Alvin F Meredith "Tripp" to be a general authority??? That is my mission president. Ah no! So we had a mission wide zoon call and we all cried and went through the 7 stages of grief. He is leaving in June. Never forget Tripp . He is an amazing person. I have never met someone who cares so much about my true conversion to Christ. 4. We saw a dog with its brains coming out of its skull. We saw the literal brain and blood. Candy Necklace review

  Hello I bought a candy necklace  I was so excited to wear it but when I tried to put it on, my HEAD WAS TOO BIG. I couldn't fit it over this big noggin. Genetics are working against me I am training again! My companion's name is Sister Westbrook and she is from California. She is the second of five. My favorite things about her are that she is an amazing story-teller, decisive, outgoing, and iconic. Overall she is super cool and I am blessed to be able to welcome her into the mission! Also, she said she doesn't like food with taste. We eat every meal together, but rarely the same meal We spent some time knocking doors this week. The usual way this goes down is we message a neighbor who lives next to a person who has not yet accepted the message of Christ's restored gospel. We ask the neighbor if they would accompany us to knock in the door. Usually they say yes, unless they have good information for why we shouldn't. Then we knock on the door and introduce ourselv...

Hello, Well I was sitting on the plane just relishing in my last moments of no expectations. I thought to myself, "enjoy this while you can, because it is going to be non-stop work, obedience and strict schedules for the next fifteen months." Hahaaaa what a joke. Expectations met reality and it hurt a little. I'm in a trio with two Samoan sisters serving in the Samoan area. We are stationed in West jordan and the area we cover is bigger than my actual mission! Sister Tofaeono is my trainer and my other comp's name is Sister Mariner. Sister T is very understanding, chill and extremely genuine. I love that about her. She is so chill in fact that when i ask for guidance or about the rules, she says, "do what ever you want." And sister mariner is beautiful and mellow. They are both from Samoa and they speak Samoan as their first language. They speak it to each other a lot so i am kinda in my own world A lot of the time.
