Trucks hearts smile

Image
We saw some drama unfold on the wild streets of Draper!! A semi truck was crossing a two lanes of oncoming traffic to pull into a driveway. While one lane stopped to let him pass, the car in the second lane was like no way josé and started to slowly creep up to block the truck. Then the truck driver hopped out of the cabin and the truck driver's friend ran out of the house. The car started to drive threw and the friend threw his coffee at the the car's windshield🤯 We got an email from pres saying that all of a sudden a lot of missionaries in the two spanish zones have covid . Whoops, looks like I was a trail blazer!! 🖤  So we can't teach in person, have meetings in person, or do service. But we can go shopping and out to eat-- hallelujah 🏻. So, I guess it is a baby quarentine 🏼 The mission ia changing me so much-- it is wild! Sometimes my heart physically feels like it is growing its capacity to live and thrive in different challenges and difficult feelings . It is ex

Bye bye quarantine!  Breaking news, I feel allllmost fluent in Spanish! Who would have thought that I could learn Spanish is Draper Ut ?? "Not me" (summer wheatly). But I did. Arriba!! This last week was súper spiritual. I kept a close eye on everytime I felt the spirit tell me something. I kept a list, and boy was I blessed. I found that the spirit comforts me by bringing sweet memories to my rememberance. We drove past a shed and it reminded me of the structures used to build a virtual zoo in the computer game zoo tycoon. I smiled, thinking about how my siblings and I would fight to have a turn playing that game:') good times. 🐅 🦓 We had zone conference and it was amazing! We talked about personal conversion and how to teach baptism. Both great! And it was fantastic to see other missionaries after having been quarantined. Life is looking up I hit my tenth month mark! Double digits  baby!! Time is flying.  Love you all!!! Hna Alice Hall Pics 1) Shout out to mom for g

Covid 19 & Quarantine

Image
So I took the test on Monday and sure enough, I got Covid! So we spent this week in quarantine. We could drive around, go through drive thrus and go for walks. Other than that, we chilled inside. I wasn't able to taste anything for about five days, but now I am almost back to normal. It is similar to if I burnt my tongue. The rest of my mouth can taste, but not my tongue. While I couldn't taste very much, I could taste sugary things. I ate a lot of mango and yogurt! Chocolate was always a let down and things like eggs, potatoes, and beans, I couldn't taste at all. Every single Latina in the whole world (not even an exageration) told me to drink ginger, honey and lemon to get cured. They are precious:) We still did missionary work, just no in-person visits. We contacted a lot of people and had videocalls with members. My spanish has greatly improved!  I was tired to my core this week. I felt so exhausted that I started questioning if I have ever had energy in my life, or i

Christmas & the rona

Christmas Eve We ate breakfast as a district from BYU catering and the cinamon rolls were so good! Then we hiked a hike that had absolutely no switchbacks. Only straight up. Then Hna Petranek and I got asian food. Christmas Day We made breakfast and opened presents. We played soccer, basketball and ultimate frizbee as a district. Then Hna Petranek and I got sushi. Delicious! Covid Well it finally happened. I was eating one of my favorite foods, pork n beans, and I thought to myself, "this has no flavor. How disappointing." Then I realized that nothing else had flavor. So I took the covid test this afternoon-- we shall see!

I have never done so much missionary work in my life. I forgot the pandemic was a thing! After district council, we all ate a piece of beef jerky with hot sauce called The Last Dab. One elder cried. I felt sick for the rest of the day. Team bonding! When we were pumping gas, a lady gave us chik fil a gift cards!! We are so spoiled. We found someone on facebook, and get this, we are teaching them now. 🤯 Part of Alma 32:16 says, "blessed are they who humble themselves without being compelled to be humble." Someone tell me how to do this because the amount of times that I have been straight up smitten during my mission is kind of a lot haha.  My holiday cocktail of choice this christmas season is 2 cups of warm water, a little almond milk and some honey. I love you all ☃️
