Living La Vida Loca

My trainer loves to tell people, "ah! Training is so difficult!" "Everything is so crazy because I am training" or "I am exhausted every day from being a trainer." So if you ever think to yourself, "I wonder what Alice is up to right now," just know, I am here in Draper, UT being a gigantic burden.

Our teaching methods:
1) we make videos containing principles of a lesson and send one ever day to two people we are teaching.
2) we gave the lesson pamphlets to a couple and they study one a week and then text us what they learned. We also dropped off a Doctrine and Covenants book to the lady because she wanted one! 
3) we call people on sundays with a member because that technically counts as going to church. Usually it falls through though! Haha

ANYWAYS, this week was very emotional for me:

1) I cried laughing many times. The more my comp amd I have laughed, the better friends we have become. Hermana Hopkins and I are so close. We try not to think about ever being transfered from each other because it makes us sad. I love her so much. She and I are different-- she drinks two gallons of milk a week and she has the most beautiful voice everrrr-- but we are besties:)) she is the greatest. She took an hour to explain the plot of Le Mis to me and she has told me everything about her life. She has been through a ton and I look up to her a lot. She has me hooked on (the chill & nonexplicit) Hamilton songs. We already have plans to do stuff after the mission together!

2) I cried when Taylor Swift came out with an album. And then I cried about it a couple more times after that. But then I meditated about it and I thought I had emotionally calmed down. Then I called my sister to talk about the album and I cried about it again. I am not going to listen to it until I get home. That is probably the biggest sacrifice I will make on my mission. Jk

Pioneer Day is a thing here in Utah, so my district got together and had a BBQ and played card games! I have never had so much fun. I love these people❤

God is so good! Especially during the hard times❣Have a great Monday!!!

  We had miracles on Sunday  People that we are teaching went to church like CRAZY. The most amazing instance was when a girl who is at her dad's house in another city 50% of the time went to the ward over there. Big win because her dad doesn't like the church. She is 13 and making these decisions on HER OWN!  On Friday, we drove to a guy's house that told us we could stop by anytime. But when we stopped by he wasn't home. But as we were driving away we saw him in the far off distance in his backyard. SO we yelled his name from the other side of the yard and climbed down the retaining wall and started teaching him  Less than 10 days. I am going to soak this all up. Love you Sister Hall

  Hello! I am halfway through my mission and looking back, it has been a surprising and great journey.  - mexico mtc for 12 days - home mtc for 4 weeks as a missionary - worked at home depot for 2 months - started my mission in the samoan area - serving in spanish!! Hello, Well I was sitting on the plane just relishing in my last moments of no expectations. I thought to myself, "enjoy this while you can, because it is going to be non-stop work, obedience and strict schedules for the next fifteen months." Hahaaaa what a joke. Expectations met reality and it hurt a little. I'm in a trio with two Samoan sisters serving in the Samoan area. We are stationed in West jordan and the area we cover is bigger than my actual mission! Sister Tofaeono is my trainer and my other comp's name is Sister Mariner. Sister T is very understanding, chill and extremely genuine. I love that about her. She is so chill in fact that when i ask for guidance or about the rules, she says, "do what ever you want." And sister mariner is beautiful and mellow. They are both from Samoa and they speak Samoan as their first language. They speak it to each other a lot so i am kinda in my own world A lot of the time.
