Living La Vida Loca

My trainer loves to tell people, "ah! Training is so difficult!" "Everything is so crazy because I am training" or "I am exhausted every day from being a trainer." So if you ever think to yourself, "I wonder what Alice is up to right now," just know, I am here in Draper, UT being a gigantic burden.

Our teaching methods:
1) we make videos containing principles of a lesson and send one ever day to two people we are teaching.
2) we gave the lesson pamphlets to a couple and they study one a week and then text us what they learned. We also dropped off a Doctrine and Covenants book to the lady because she wanted one! 
3) we call people on sundays with a member because that technically counts as going to church. Usually it falls through though! Haha

ANYWAYS, this week was very emotional for me:

1) I cried laughing many times. The more my comp amd I have laughed, the better friends we have become. Hermana Hopkins and I are so close. We try not to think about ever being transfered from each other because it makes us sad. I love her so much. She and I are different-- she drinks two gallons of milk a week and she has the most beautiful voice everrrr-- but we are besties:)) she is the greatest. She took an hour to explain the plot of Le Mis to me and she has told me everything about her life. She has been through a ton and I look up to her a lot. She has me hooked on (the chill & nonexplicit) Hamilton songs. We already have plans to do stuff after the mission together!

2) I cried when Taylor Swift came out with an album. And then I cried about it a couple more times after that. But then I meditated about it and I thought I had emotionally calmed down. Then I called my sister to talk about the album and I cried about it again. I am not going to listen to it until I get home. That is probably the biggest sacrifice I will make on my mission. Jk

Pioneer Day is a thing here in Utah, so my district got together and had a BBQ and played card games! I have never had so much fun. I love these people❤

God is so good! Especially during the hard times❣Have a great Monday!!!

  It was a great week! Here are the notable things 1. General Conference. Eight hours of tv?! Yes please. I loved so many of the talks and just having time to remember what is truly important: Jesus Christ 2. A member gave us an Easter dinner and for dessert she gave us each one pound chocolate bunnies . We left them on a random doorstep down the street and ran .  3. We were watching general conference as a district, all happy and in la-la land, AND THEN suddenly they call Alvin F Meredith "Tripp" to be a general authority??? That is my mission president. Ah no! So we had a mission wide zoon call and we all cried and went through the 7 stages of grief. He is leaving in June. Never forget Tripp . He is an amazing person. Mother's Lounge and Fun lessons

  We leave our appartment every day by 9am. We return at noon for lunch and then stay out till 9pm. This means that we spend a lot of time in church buildings. It so happens that the mother's room has the most comfy chairs. We thought this was a fun little secret until some elders told us that they ALSO spend all their time in the mother's room. Man! Nothing is sacred anymore When you need to convince a 10 year old boy to go to a lesson, you have to use a trebuchet as bribery. And it worked! The family was explaining to us that they once launched a baseball and it disappeared into the horizon. Hopefully no one was injured  ️ We taught a little girl about the Plan of Salvation by decorating cupcakes to represent the different phases we go through. She told us it was the best lesson ever and that she was going to eat all 18 cupcakes right then and there. Not little for long Sending my love to all of you Sister Hall

Trucks hearts smile

  We saw some drama unfold on the wild streets of Draper!! A semi truck was crossing a two lanes of oncoming traffic to pull into a driveway. While one lane stopped to let him pass, the car in the second lane was like no way josé and started to slowly creep up to block the truck. Then the truck driver hopped out of the cabin and the truck driver's friend ran out of the house. The car started to drive threw and the friend threw his coffee at the the car's windshield🤯 We got an email from pres saying that all of a sudden a lot of missionaries in the two spanish zones have covid . Whoops, looks like I was a trail blazer!! 🖤  So we can't teach in person, have meetings in person, or do service. But we can go shopping and out to eat-- hallelujah 🏻. So, I guess it is a baby quarentine 🏼 The mission ia changing me so much-- it is wild!
