Alice on a mission

  We had miracles on Sunday  People that we are teaching went to church like CRAZY. The most amazing instance was when a girl who is at her dad's house in another city 50% of the time went to the ward over there. Big win because her dad doesn't like the church. She is 13 and making these decisions on HER OWN!  On Friday, we drove to a guy's house that told us we could stop by anytime. But when we stopped by he wasn't home. But as we were driving away we saw him in the far off distance in his backyard. SO we yelled his name from the other side of the yard and climbed down the retaining wall and started teaching him  Less than 10 days. I am going to soak this all up. Love you Sister Hall

  We leave our appartment every day by 9am. We return at noon for lunch and then stay out till 9pm. This means that we spend a lot of time in church buildings. It so happens that the mother's room has the most comfy chairs. We thought this was a fun little secret until some elders told us that they ALSO spend all their time in the mother's room. Man! Nothing is sacred anymore When you need to convince a 10 year old boy to go to a lesson, you have to use a trebuchet as bribery. And it worked! The family was explaining to us that they once launched a baseball and it disappeared into the horizon. Hopefully no one was injured  ️ We taught a little girl about the Plan of Salvation by decorating cupcakes to represent the different phases we go through. She told us it was the best lesson ever and that she was going to eat all 18 cupcakes right then and there. Not little for long Sending my love to all of you Sister Hall

  Most people talk about how ate a ton garbage. I didn't realize that members feed us salad as a main course like 4 or 5 times a week until Sister Pierce came into my life. She REFUSES to eat salad. More for me President Kotter took us all on a short hike. We melted under the sun. As he shared an inspirational story about knowing who you are to reach your potential, he invited us to recommit to the Lord. It was just what we needed. The moral of the story was, "You are an eagle. Not a chicken. Soar!"  A super active Sister in the ward has a grandson who isn't baptized. She told us that he isn't a "golden investigator." So when we asked him if he wanted to meet with us again, he said yes, and the grandma went, "You ARE?" Whose side are you on?!?! We were all pleasantly surprised. It was awesome.   A Sister called us and said, "Missionaries, I woke up at 3am this morning and the Spirit told me that you need to sing 'Called to Serve' in sacrament meeting." Yep, I sang my first musical number in church. Was it fun? Yes. Were all the right notes hit? Nope. But the crowd was elderly and they loved it About Sister Pierce: 1 While we are driving, she looks out the window and points to houses and goes, "That is a New York home." "THAT is a New York home." "Now THAT is a New York home."  2 She loves pizza so much, but members here usually feed us healthy and nice food, so she hadn't eaten pizza for two weeks. After many prayers, someone rolled into the service project with six boxes of pizza. She stared at her pieces of pizza longingly before she took each bite 3 She is exactly the companion I need right now. She is great at helping me improve and making me laugh constantly.
